LAVA launches Iris X8 in India at ₹8999 ($145). LAVA International Limited today announced the launch of a new member to its flagship 'Iris X' series of smartphones. LAVA's Iris X8 is available in white & black color and comes with Dual SIM support. It will be available for sale across all national retail stores and multi-brand outlets. Iris X8 will be available online exclusively on starting 12:00 noon from 9th Feb.

The Iris X8 smartphone has a 5-inch screen with resolution of 720*1280 (HD) and an oil coating on the screen has been provided for a smooth touch experience for the user. The newly launched Iris X8 powered by an 1.4GHz Octa-Core processor and 2GB RAM. The smartphone has 16 GB of memory, operates on Android v4.4 KitKat, FOTA upgradable to Android 5.0 Lollipop, and it also comes with an intelligent quick window flip cover accessory available separately out of the box.
 The Iris X8 has primary camera of 8 megapixel with Dual LED flash, Auto focus and BSI-III sensor and sports a 3 megapixel front camera. It also supports full HD Video recording and digital zoom with built in auto-focus, panorama, HDR mode, face detection, smile shot and voice capture which ensures you capture crystal clear photos of your favourite moments. On connectivity front, the dual SIM equipped Iris X8 is equipped with 3G connectivity apart from Wi-Fi, Bluetooth v4.0. It also offers OTG support that enables file transfer through USB drive on the move.
Besides this, the phone also houses a smart swap technology that allows the user to switch SIMs on the go, without the need to restart the handset. The LAVA Iris X8 is powered by a 2500 mAh battery. To further help save on the battery life Iris X8 comes with an Intelligent Flip cover that allows users to access applications like music, calling, camera, messaging and few other functions directly without the need of switching to the main screen.
Additionally for consumer's ease of use, the phone has a gesture recognition functionality with Smart Wake-up and Gesture controls which allows consumers to directly jump to applications from the locked screen.
